As a result of the current red tide situation in coastal areas and surrounding counties, the WIldlife Center of Venice is taking in a much larger number of birds than usual. The Center says most of the birds admitted show signs of lifelessness, being dazed and unable to stand. In a Facebook post, the Center asks you to be aware of any unusual signs when you come across any wildlife especially at the beaches, lakes, ponds, roads, parking lots, driveways and yards.
