Congressman Trey Radel has issued another apology for his behavior.

On Facebook, Radel has expressed both thanks and remorse for letting down the people he represents.  He calls his recovery underway and ongoing, saying he has to build a support system on which he must rely for the rest of his life.

Radel claims that while in voluntary rehab, he started a step by step process to help in recover one day at a time.  He says this included lifestyle changes, daily meetings, and reconnecting spiritually.

Radel has identified alcohol as his problem, admitting it turned into an issue when it led to what he describes as poor choices and missed opportunities.  He says it never interfered with his lawmaking duties, but it chipped away at his relationships.

Nevertheless, Radel says this sorrow has led to a positive transformation of his life and a renewed focus.
