Charlotte County Animal Control has issued a 30-day rabies alert after a dog was exposed to a bat that tested positive for rabies. The rabies alert covers Studio Avenue, Hillsborough Boulevard, Liberto Street, Richmond Avenue, Roosevelt Avenue, and Salisbury Street. Residents in these areas should Report any sick or injured wildlife, any stray domestic animals, any animals behaving abnormally, and avoid contact with unfamiliar animals. The alert ends June 23rd.
