A Punta Gorda man was seriously hurt on Sunday as he turned his motorcycle into the path of another vehicle.
Florida Highway Patrol said 60 year old Raymond Tombs failed to yield to a Chevy Tahoe at Jones Loop and Taylor Roads. FHP said he was trying to make a U-turn when he was hit by the truck. His Harley was hit by the truck that 40 year old Erick Lockhart of Fort Myers was driving. The motorcycle spun from the impact, and landed on its side. Lockhart and his passenger were not hurt, but Tombs was taken to the hospital to be treated. He was also cited for failure to yield.
