A Punta Gorda man was arrested for illegally dumping eight truckloads of trash from the Bread of Life Mission. Investigators with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office say 29-year-old Michael Alan Garrod has been charged with four felony and four misdemeanor counts for violating the Litter Law. Garrod is accused of dumping the trash near the intersection of Golf Course Boulevard and Pelican Drive. A local resident alerted authorities after seeing Garrod drive by several times on June 6 with a truck full of trash, only to return moments later with the bed empty. After interviewing Garrod Monday, he confessed and was arrested and charged.
