The FAA didn’t show Punta Gorda any love today, and the air traffic control tower there will shut down between April 7th and May 7th. Punta Gorda was one of 189 smaller-airport control towers slated for closure due to the federal sequestration budget cuts. The FAA granted appeals from 40 of the 189. Punta Gorda’s wasn’t one of them.
