Edison Collegiate High School in Punta Gorda was one of three southwest Florida high schools to make Newsweek’s “Beating the Odds” list, which identifies schools that succeed in preparing students for college despite holding low-income status. Edison ranked 154th out of the 500 schools listed, boasting a 97.7 percent graduation rate and an 83.9 college readiness score. The other schools in our region to make the list are Fort Myers High School and Lorenzo Walker Technical School in Naples.
