The parent company of a Charlotte County composting facility has won a major court battle in Pennsylvania. Synagro Technologies, Inc., operates an organics recycling center in Punta Gorda that takes in biosolids and green waste, converting it all to compost. The case up north involved the use of biosolids as fertilizer on farms, which had come under fire due to the odors associated with the practice. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court determined that biosolid use is protected under the Right To Farm Act.
