Punta Gorda’s plan to annex a part of Charlotte County’s is on hold. The Charlotte County Commission decided today that the city jumped the gun. County officials say they want more time to work with the city to put together an annexation agreement that nails down how the two sides will maintain the land in question, nicknamed the Loop. NBC2 reports the two sides have to have an agreement since only one of the two property owners involved wants to be annexed into the city.
