The fight over Imagine School in North Port is over. The Herald-Tribune reports the deal means the departure of Principal Justin Matthews’ on May 31, and the charter school stays with its old board intact and stay with the Imagine Schools Corporation. The battle started in February, when the school tried to fire Imagine Schools and become independent. Matthews and local officials weren’t happy about the substantial management fees to Imagine from public tax dollars every year. The deal was reached early this morning, and a mediator will release the details.
