Charlotte County Sheriff’s detectives have arrested 24-year old Kenneth Purdin, II of Port Charlotte for stealing his parents jewelry, worth over $22,000. His parents called CCSO when they returned home last week to find their jewelry missing. Detectives checked the pawn database and found transactions made by Purdin while his parents were away. Detectives found a couple of the missing rings, pictures taken, and shown to the parents who identified them. Purdin was arrested in Englewood. He’s charged with Grand Theft, Dealing in Stolen Property, and Altered ID to a Secondhand Dealer. His bond’s $32,500.
