The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office says a Port Charlotte man has been arrested after a shooting incident earlier this afternoon on Newbury Street injured a woman, her child, and a neighbor’s dog. Following the break-in, the unidentified man then led police on a chase that ended when he wrecked near U.S. 41 and Chamberlain Boulevard. Police say the shooting was related to a domestic incident. The man, woman, and child were each taken to the hospital for treatment of various injuries. The dog was taken to a veterinarian. An investigation is ongoing, and deputies say multiple charges are pending.
