Politico reports multiple sources saying Trey Radel resigns from Congress today.
The 37-year-old House freshman bought cocaine in November from an undercover federal agent in Washington.
Radel spent nearly a month in rehab and returned to Congress after the winter recess. However, sources now say he plans on sending a letter to the House Speaker informing him of his departure.
The governor would then schedule a special election for Radel’s seat.
