Investigators have identified the Charlotte Correctional Institution inmate who died earlier this week. 35-year-old Quonta Howard was found unresponsive aroung 6am Tuesday morning. Florida’s Department of Law Enforcement says it is opening its seventh criminal probe of the prison. Just last month, another inmate, Robert Peterkin, was found dead under what family members call suspicious circumstances. A grand jury report released last month determined that last year’s death of inmate Matthew Walker was a homicide, though no convictions were handed down because prison staff cleaned up the scene and contaminated evidence.
