A key piece of evidence will be included when 16-year-old Shawn Tyson’s trial in the murder of two British tourists begins in Sarasota next week. A judge now ruling that reports of Tyson threatening a family with a .22 caliber pistol nine days before the tourists were shot can be included in trial evidence. The British tourists were killed as they wandered drunk through The Courts housing complex late at night last April 16th. Tyson’s lawyers arguing vigorously against allowing the pistol evidence, saying it would prejudice jurors.
