Today is the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, which vaulted the U-S into World War Two. Hopefully you’re flying a flag today. A poignant moment will occur later when Navy divers will bring the ashes of a Port Charlotte man to the wreck of the battleship Arizona. Vernon Olson was one of the lucky ones to survive the attack. One thousand, one hundred seventy-seven of his shipmates did not. Today, Olson’s ashes will be reunited with the Arizona at Pearl Harbor.
