The longest-serving member of the Sarasota County Commission says she will not run again. Board Chair Nora Patterson, who’s served on the Commission since 1998, announcing well in advance that this will be her final term. Patterson becomes the second Commissioner to say they won’t stand for re-election. Joe Barbetta previously announcing he won’t seek a third term Patterson has been in local government for 24 years.
