Osprey pier reconstruction can move forward.

Your Observer reports county parks and recreation director Carolyn Brown announcing in an email that her staff has secured all the permits the project needs.

Brown says the engineer has started working on designs, which should take a month to finish.

Parts of the pier closed a year and a half ago when engineers found most of its concrete pillars needed replacing.

Depending on the weather, Brown says the project may finish in the fall or the winter.
