The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, working with the Florida Sheriffs Task Force, has ended a month long operation to make sure businesses are following the law when it comes to the sales of booze, tobacco, and synthetic drugs to juveniles.
Operation Dry Spring 2015 ran during spring break. Deputies made eight arrests during checks of 79-businesses for compliance with declining underage purchases and changing id’s. Deputies also caught four people under the age of 21 in possession of alcohol, two with tobacco, one with a phony ID, and 10-with illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia.
