Punta Gorda, FL

On June 20th, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with Punta Gorda Police Department, conducted an operation titled “Crackdown” in the city of Punta Gorda regarding illegal narcotics activity. As part of this operation, eight arrests were made and a search warrant was served at 509 Fitzhugh Ave.

The investigation that led to Operation Crackdown found that the Fitzhugh Ave. residence was a hub for illegal narcotics activity in the area and members were able to connect numerous subjects to this address. Furthermore, the investigation found that many of these subjects were distributing the narcotics in the area of the Punta Gorda Recreation Center and South County Park.

The primary suspect, Joevan M. Federick (4/13/78), was located inside the residence with crack cocaine in his possession. Federick was charged with Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Federick was additionally charged with Sale and Delivery of a Cocaine within 1,000 ft of a church, Sale and Delivery of Cocaine within 1,000 ft of a park, Sale and Delivery of Cocaine, and Possession of Cocaine in relation to previous incidents.
