A Ft. Myers physician says the levels of arsenic found in a Charlotte County community’s well water poses a low-level health risk and could make residents sick. Fox4 reports Dr. Amy Wecker’s reacting to health department reports showing arsenic’s in the well water of a man who lives on Edmund Street in Punta Gorda. Environmental standards say a safe level of arsenic is 10 micrograms per liter, but 19 micrograms/liter was found in the residents water, and the state’s given them a water filtration system. The affected resident’s lost 50-pounds, and is being tested for lead and arsenic poisoning.
