November brought a heat wave across southwest Florida, at least for this time of year. Several heat-related records were tied or broken around the region. Punta Gorda clocked in with its second-warmest November on record with an average temperature of 76.4F. From Nov. 2 to Nov. 11, the city set 10 consecutive daily high-temperature records. Ten new daily record warm lows were recorded over the month between Punta Gorda and Ft. Myers. Ft. Myers also saw its second-warmest November, and Naples set a record for its warmest November on record. Forecasters expect the pattern of warmer-than-usual weather to continue as a strong El Nino settles in for the winter.
