North Port, Florida is so green…how green is it? Its so green it’s gold!
Okay, it’s so green it sets the gold standard, the highest achievement that the Florida Green Building Coalition or FGBC gives out. The organization says North Port is the only city in Sarasota County that even has a green local government. There are only 33 cities and counties in Florida that FGBC has honored for their “greenness”. The city will collect its award at a city commission meeting on January 9 at 1 p.m. at North Port City Hall.
