We don’t know why or how, but a 120-foot crane collapsed in North Port on Wednesday. It happened as a worker installed equipment at a cell phone tower off Bobcat Village Center Road near Toledo Blade Boulevard. The crane crushed a truck, but the man inside sustained only minor injuries. North Port Police say it also damaged an equipment building and a work trailer. The crane, which belongs to Pompano Beach-based Allegiance Crane, was still overturned as of last night. The incident is under investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
