Assistance continues to classmates and teachers following Friday’s hit-and-run death in Port Charlotte.

The search continues for the vehicle that hit 14-year-old Devin Federly.

It happened as Federly rode his bike with friends near Sheehan Boulevard and State Avenue.

Witnesses say he stood in the bike lane on the edge of the road when the vehicle hit him.

Mike Riley from Charlotte County Public Schools tells the Charlotte Sun that the principal has held a moment of silence at Port Charlotte Middle School this week.

Despite a reward that Crime Stoppers has offered, no one has given more information.

The highway patrol has described the vehicle as an extended cab, older-model silver pickup with right front and windshield damage.

The truck may also have a chrome tool box in its bed.
