A hotel room is hard to find in Charlotte County and surrounding areas as folks fleeing Hurricane Matthew have snapped up virtually all the available rooms.
Some hotels even lifted their pet policies so those getting out of Matthew’s way didn’t have to leave their animals behind.
Charlotte County and Sarasota County schools will be open as usual on Friday, but Manatee County schools will be closed and and all extra-curricular activities are cancelled.
