No one reported any injuries from yesterday’s brush fire in Port Charlotte.
Fire Rescue and EMS spent the morning working near South Gulf Cove.
Engines from Englewood Area Fire Control, North Port Fire Rescue, and the Boca Grande Fire Department also helped contain the fire.
WWSB-TV reports the forest service sent two tractors and a supervisor.
The 12-acre fire threatened several homes, but no one reports any damage.
