Brandon Johnson, assistant principal at Sarasota County’s Brentwood Elementary School, has been promoted to principal at Lamarque Elementary, the county’s largest elementary school. The Herald-Tribune reports once the school board approves, his salary will go from $73,000 to almost $93,000/year. Lamarque’s had a history of physical plant issues, and is waiting for the results of a report from an expert on the source of environmental complaints. Johnson has a master’s in educational leadership from the University of South Florida and a bachelor’s in elementary education from Norfolk State University.
