After two hours of listening to angry and some time shouting North Port residents who want Warm Mineral Springs open again, North Port’s City Commissioners say they’re going to send a new plan to Sarasota County Commissioners, co-owners of the property. But don’t expect the Springs to re-open anytime soon. The Herald-Tribune reports the plan to be sent next Monday, will call for the city and county to simultaneously put out requests for bids for short-term and long-term operators to take over the running of Warm Mineral Springs. The city proposal will be just for the 22-acres including the springs, spa, restaurant and changing rooms. That could be a problem since County leaders want the entire property developed.
