The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office charged a former deputy Monday evening and revealed new details regarding the ongoing investigation into allegations harassment and exploitation of a 79-year-old Sarasota woman. Frankie Eugene Bybee was arrested on January 23rd and charged with attempted murder, grand theft, forgery and more. The sheriff’s office says it has since learned that Bybee had sent the victim’s doctor an email from her email address, pretending to be the victim and implying that she was suicidal. That resulted in the woman being involuntarily committed for evalutation. Investigators were contacted by another woman who indicated she and Bybee engaged in an illicit sexual relationship over the course of several years. She said she paid him more than 100-thousand dollars for performing sexual acts. Additional charges against Bybee are pending.
