After years of trying to bring a water park resort to the area, Southwest Land Developers and Charlotte County are pulling the plug on a land swap deal that was supposed to give a boost to Murdock Village. The Englewood Sun reports Charlotte County Economic Development Director Tom Patton is recommending the commission cancel its 2011 land swap agreement with SLD, and reimburse the company $35,000 for contributions made to Murdock Village.
