The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is trying to identify the man seen with James Brotherton shortly before he was murdered on November 21st.

Surveillance photos and video show Brotherton and a man in black clothing at the Beneva Village Bank of America ATM at 11:49 p.m. Brotherton was shot about four minutes later at Curtiss Avenue and Gulf Gate Drive and his body was found there at 12:30 a.m., by a deputy on routine patrol. His vehicle was located near Stickney Point Road and Gateway Drive around 5:20 a.m.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.
