Punta Gorda Airport soon has more parking.

This news follows the announcement of a second carrier for flights there.

The airport wants to add two lots with 500 parking spots.

The new lots also include added pay stations and more entering and exit lanes.

WBBH-TV reports it should have them ready to go by late October when Frontier Airlines begins flights out of there.

When Frontier starts its service, the planes fly nonstop to Chicago-O’Hare, Philadelphia, and Trenton.

For now, Allegiant Airlines operates as Punta Gorda’s sole carrier.
