With the recent closing of Warm Mineral Springs Day Spa, North Port city commissioners have agreed to use up to $45,447 in contingency funds for repairs and upkeep. The North Port Sun reports commissioners agreed to use a portion of the funds to repay Sarasota County $21,352.17 for its share of expenses at the Springs, which it co-owns with the county. The Springs was closed July 1 after the two governments failed to reach an agreement on the future operations of the city’s only tourist attraction before day spa operator Cypress Lending’s contract expired June 30.
