Florida residents are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the state’s first tax-free weekend, which marks the beginning of two such weekends dedicated to back-to-school supplies and more.

Governor Ron DeSantis made history in May by enacting Florida’s most substantial tax relief plan ever, amounting to a staggering $2.7 billion in relief for the citizens. This plan not only includes the traditional tax-free holidays focused on back-to-school supplies and disaster preparedness items but also grants temporary tax waivers on recreational items and children’s toys. Moreover, it introduces permanent sales tax exemptions for baby and toddler necessities, providing long-term benefits to families.

The initial 14-day tax-free weekend, running from July 24 to August 6, will be dedicated to back-to-school supplies. The second one is scheduled for the first two weeks of January, extending the opportunity for savings.
