A Port Charlotte man stands accused of a business burglary and a car theft.
The sheriff’s office says it arrested 55-year-old James Frizzell, Jr. yesterday morning after he tried escaping a deputy and his dog.
Employees at Auto Marketing and Sales on Tamiami Trial arrived to find someone broke out the front door.
They also could not find a gray Ford Explorer someone had parked in front of the business.
Video showed a man smashing the door and taking the keys to this vehicle.
The sheriff’s office says the business owner recognized this man as Frizzell, who came by Tuesday to test drive a Monte Carlo.
The owner claimed Frizzell had completed paperwork to buy that vehicle.
