A Sarasota man in serious condition after a traffic accident in which officers say an elderly woman turned directly into his path. 51-year-old Miles Hart of Sarasota being treated for serious injuries at this hour at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton. Officers say Hart was injured when 78-year-old Katherine McAvoy of Sarasota turned into his path near the intersection of S-R 71 and Myakka Valley Trail. McAvoy was not injured in the crash and has now been charged with violating the right-of-way.
