Charlotte County Sheriff’s officials said a woman died and a man was arrested in Englewood over the weekend.
Major Crimes Unit Detectives said a man called them to a house on McCall road where they found an unresponsive woman. Twenty year old Tawni Blair was taken to Englewood Community Hospital where she was pronounced dead on Saturday afternoon. As MCU investigated, they said 61 year old Raul Gonzales Garcia gave the permission to search his house where they found a firearm, lots of ammo and arrested him for being felon in possession of a firearm. They said they believe Blair’s death to be a drug overdose, but the medical examiner will make that determination.
