Charlotte County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit detectives say within an hour last week, the same Englewood man sold undercover officers a stolen boat motor, then sold illegal drugs to a different set of officers. 25-year old Steven Kraig Kasten was arrested Wednesday evening. About 9:25, he’d sold the stolen boat motor, valued at about 17-hundred dollars, to detectives in a Burger King parking lot, for $300. An hour and five minutes later, Kasten is said to have met another drug detective in a McDonald’s parking lot and sold Oxycodone pills. At that time, detectives arrested him. The Sheriff’s office says Karsten is a suspect in a recent rash of boat motor thefts in the South Gulf Cove area.
