The sheriff’s office has arrested a Port Charlotte man that could make taxpayers unhappy.
It believes 80-year-old John Denardo poured what looked like gas on the road in front his and his neighbors’ homes on Lorenzo Avenue.
Denardo claimed he wanted to clean sewage that a septic tank pumping service had spilled.
However, the deputy on the case said surveillance showed him aimlessly pouring all over the road, not trying to clean up anything.
This apparently happened last month, but the mess has yet to disappear. The county says it could cost $12,000 to fix.
