We have more information on yesterday’s accidental shooting death in Sarasota.

The sheriff’s office says a man accidentally shot his son at High Noon Guns on Bee Ridge Road.

Officials say 14-year-old Stephen Brumby lost a lot of blood after his father shot him in the left jugular. He died at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

Detectives say William Brumby fired a round and the shell casing fell into the back of his shirt.

They claim he used his right hand to remove the casing. That hand, however, also held the gun.

Brumby inadvertently pointed the gun behind him and it accidentally fired at his son.

This happened in front of Brumby’s two other children.

The investigation continues, but Brumby does not face any charges at the moment.
