John Williams sings “Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay” by Otis Redding at “Charlotte Idol” auditions Friday, earning him a spot in the finals of competition this Friday at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center in Punta Gorda. The event benefits the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition. Fifty singers auditioned at the Cultural Center of Charlotte County, with about 20 making the cut.
