The parent company of the Bayfront Health facilities in Venice, Port Charlotte, and Punta Gorda is selling off one of its other nearby properties. Community Health Systems will sell Lehigh Regional Medical Center in Fort Myers to California-based Prime Healthcare Services, which specializes in buying struggling hospitals. Lehigh Regional reported nearly $4.2 million in losses last year as well as some of the lowest patient satisfaction ratings in the region. Prime Healthcare owns 34 hospitals in 10 states but has been criticized for its cost-cutting and revenue-boosting practices. This would be its first property in Florida
