Lamarque Elementary School temporarily closed this morning.
North Port Police says it had to do with a search for a stabbing suspect.
They say someone stabbed a woman in a domestic disturbance, and she went to a hospital.
Police say the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office ultimately found the suspect and detained him.
The Herald-Tribune reports the proximity of Lamarque Elementary to the stabbing led police to close the school.
