Charlotte County, FL – August 10, 2022

Members of the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office Juvenile Unit teamed up yesterday for an enforcement sweep targeting the sale of alcohol to minors. The operation included compliance checks on 10 commercial establishments licensed to sell alcohol products throughout Charlotte County.

Of the 10 establishments, only one was found in non-compliance for selling alcohol to a minor:

Circle K – 19200 Veterans Blvd

Circle K – 1783 Tamiami Trail

Basia’s Food Market – 1334 El Jobean Rd

Walmart Liquor Store – 19100 Murdock Cir

Murphy’s Gas Station – 19020 Murdock Cir

Walgreen’s Liquor Store – 1800 Tamiami Trail

Speedway – 1470 Tamiami Trail

7-11 – 861 Tamiami Trail

The goal of this enforcement is to curb the illegal sale of alcohol and tobacco to minors, and encourage proper checks of identification. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office will continue to work constructively with retail establishments where violations occur to ensure that employees are educated regarding Florida law. Sheriff Bill Prummell urges all individuals to report the illegal sale of alcohol and tobacco to law enforcement.
