What if you ran a strip club and your dancers couldn’t dance nude? That’s the dilemma for Sarasota County’s only so-called adult entertainment club after a circuit court judge as upheld a county ordinance banning nude entertainment. The ordinance has been in effect since 2008 but was never enforced. Lawyers for the county’s only adult club, the Cheetah on Washington Boulevard, filed motions to get the ordinance lifted but it took over two years to get a ruling. Now, the judge has upheld the ordinance, which is one of the Sun Coast’s most restrictive. So much so that the Cheetah is the only adult club in the county.
