(Port Charlotte) A Port Charlotte man who was found to be driving with an invalid driver’s license was arrested Tuesday for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

A deputy noticed that Ian Christopher Wichmann, 37, of 88 Hibiscus Drive in Punta Gorda, was driving a silver Subaru sport utility vehicle in the area of Harbor Blvd. and Gibralter Drive early Tuesday evening. The deputy had previously arrested Wichmann and knew his driving privileges had been suspended. After confirming that his driver’s license was not valid, the deputy stopped the SUV and found Wichmann at the wheel. He was placed under arrest as a Habitual Traffic Offender.

During a search of Wichmann, deputies found a glass pipe with white residue in it. They also located a small plastic baggie containing about 0.3 grams of a white crystal substance that tested positive for Methamphetamine in his wallet.

Wichmann was booked into the Charlotte County Jail. He was released on a $6,000 bond.
