Frank Cavanaugh may be getting an extended stay in a Florida state prison.

Cavanaugh was arrested yesterday for allegedly threatening to blow up the Charlotte County Justice Center. NBC2 reports he was serving time in state prison for aggravated battery at the time the threat was made in 2011. Authorities say Cavanaugh also allegedly tried to enlist a fellow inmate in a plan to kill County Clerk Barbara Scott and Circuit Judge Keith Kyle. The administrator of the Justice Center says the threat is not a surprise, telling NBC2 threats to courthouses and other government institutions nationwide have been on the rise. Cavanaugh’s being held on a $130,000 on the new charges. Before this, he was supposed to be released from prison in 2039.
