Charlotte County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit detectives arrested a homeless man for having sex with a 12 year old girl in his Port Charlotte camp.
CCSO arrested 22 year old Michael Joseph Ferris for felony Lewd or Lascivious Battery. They said that around 4:15 p.m. on Saturday a deputy stopped Ferris who was leaving a wooded area off S.R. 776, Cedarwood Street and Toledo Blade Boulevard. As the deputy talked with Ferris, two girls, about 11 and 12 years old, came out of the woods and told the deputies that they were sleeping in Ferris’ homeless camp. Cops got their dad’s permission to interview the girls and that’s when the 12 year old said she had consensual sex with Ferris. Ferris was arrested on related charges and jailed on 100 thousand dollars bond.
