Local health systems have money on their way.
The state grants come from the Agency for Healthcare Administration.
Charlotte County’s health department has nearly $170,000 coming to it. Most of it pertains to dental, but $60,000 goes to Growing Strong Families.
Family Health Centers of Southwest Florida receives just over $500,000 from the state.
The grants go towards improving access to primary care and reducing emergency room visits and hospitalization.
Overall, the ACHA has announced 60 grant recipients totaling $28 million.
